More Than 10 Million Viewers Watch Germany-Gibraltar Euro 2016 Qualifier On RTL

German free-to-air TV channel RTL "recorded more than 10 million viewers for its broadcast of the Euro 2016 qualifier between Germany and Gibraltar on Friday," according to David Grzeschik to QUOTENMETER. The first half of the game, which started at 8:45pm, attracted 9.14 million viewers. The number equaled a market share of 27.8%. In the target demographic 14-49, the game broadcast was watched by 3.39 million viewers and obtained a 28.6% share. The second half of the game had a market share of 33.8% as 10.24 million viewers tuned in starting at 9:45pm. In the target demo, the second half of the match, which Germany won 4-0, received a 32.6% share (QUOTENMETER, 11/15).

THE REST: DWDL's Alexander Krei reported German pay-TV channel Sky Deutschland "recorded disappointing ratings for Handball Champions League broadcasts over the weekend." The game between SG Flensburg-Handewitt and Barcelona was watched by only 10,000 viewers and had a market share of 0.1% in the target demo on Saturday afternoon. Sunday's game between Paris. St. Germain and THW Kiel attracted 20,000 viewers and obtained a market share of 0.2% in the target demographic. German free-to-air TV channel Sport1 attracted 130,000 viewers to its broadcast of the Basketball Bundesliga matchup between Bayern Munich and Oldenburg. In the target demo, the game obtained a 0.7% share. Later on Sunday evening, 250,000 viewers tuned in to Sport1's coverage of the Grand Slam of Darts final (DWDL, 11/17).
