Close To 8 Million Watch Munich-Roma Champions League Game On ZDF

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded close to 8 million viewers for its broadcast of the UEFA Champions League game between Bayern Munich and AS Roma on Wednesday," according to Dennis Weber of QUOTENMETER. The game, which started at 8:45pm, attracted 7.94 million viewers and had a market share of 26%. In the target demographic 14-49, Bayern's 2-0 win obtained a 20.1% market share while 2.31 million viewers tuned in. Following the game's live broadcast, ZDF aired the highlights of the match between Schalke and Sporting Lisbon. The game summary was watched by 6.58 million and had a market share of 30.5%. In the target demo, 1.84 million viewers tuned in (QUOTENMETER, 11/6).

HORSE RACING: In Sydney, Michael Bodey reported the Melbourne Cup attracted 2.122 million capital-city viewers. The preliminary metropolitan audience figure "confirms an audience slide for the race as the impact of another international winner, and few Australian competitors, continues to bite on the race's local impact" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 11/5).
