Atlético CEO Reportedly To Discuss Title Sponsorship Of Stadium With Turkish Airlines

Atlético Madrid CEO Miguel Ángel Gil "will travel to Turkey to meet with representatives of Turkish Airlines," according to Özgür Sancar of AS. Gil "currently finds himself traveling, trying to close commercial agreements to secure financing for the club." Before returning to Madrid, "Gil will stop in Istanbul to speak with Turkish Airlines, with the future name of the club's stadium on the table." He will "reportedly discuss various subjects, but with naming rights to Atlético's new stadium the most relevant." The club, however, is "considering various alternatives for the name of its new home." One of Atlético's players, Arda Turan, "is a star in Turkey." This means Turkish Airlines "could be interested in a commercial agreement with the club to be able to use the image" of Turan, "the biggest star in Turkish football" (AS, 10/14).
