Championnat National Side Luzenac Wants Financial Compensation From LFP

Championnat National side Luzenac President Jérôme Ducros says the club plans to go before a Toulouse administrative tribunal “in a couple of weeks” to “contest the rulings from the French Football League (LFP) and the French Football Federation, and claim financial compensation from them,” according to the AFP. Luzenac, which won the right to move up to Ligue 2 after finishing second in Division 3 last season, was instead relegated to the regional division 5 levels lower. After three months of struggle and "yet another refusal" from the LFP to allow the club to move up to Ligue 2 due to the non-conformity of the stadium, Ducros and his General Manager, Fabien Barthez, decided to give up their fight on Sept. 10. Ducros said, "The financial loss is clear. We will continue to fight. ...Our business was stolen from us and we expect to get it back" (AFP, 10/12).
