Peter Lim Completes La Liga Valencia Takeover, Singapore Politician Says

Secretary of State for Singapore Teo Chee Hean said that Singaporean Peter Lim "had recently 'completed the purchase'" of La Liga side Valencia, Spanish newspaper ABC "journalist for the region" Carmen Calvo reported, according to Conrado Valle of AS. The "admission of the politician from Singapore is another example of the ongoing ties being forged by Singapore and Spain." At present, neither Valencia lender Bankia nor Meriton (Lim's company) have "made an official announcement although it’s believed that both sides have been getting closer to an agreement over the past few days." When Meriton presented Bankia with an "amended proposal over the four areas of discord, both sides' lawyers met up to review the clauses in the provisional contract relating to the re-financing of the club’s debt, an integral point in concluding the purchase of 70% of the club’s shares" (AS, 10/10).
