Spanish Football League Debuts New Advertising Medium 'Sockatyes'

The Spanish Football League (LFP) presented the "Sockatyes" agreement in which more than 20 La Liga and Spanish second division clubs will display the Asian sponsor on their players’ socks. The first club to use them will be Atlético Madrid, in its match against Espanyol on Oct. 19 at the Vicente Calderón. LFP Dir of Marketing Adolfo Bara said, "From the LFP, and together with all the clubs in La Liga, we are working to activate an internationalization strategy in the competition, we want to make a global league." Raúl Jiménez was the representative of Atlético's first squad at the presentation. He and three of his teammates from Atlético Madrid B, Carlos Ramos, Héctor Hernández and David Gil, posed in their respective kits with the "Sockatyes" on their socks (LFP).
