Marketplace Roundup: FC Schalke Extends Partnership With 1-2-3-Plakat.de

Bundesliga club FC Schalke and outdoor advertising specialist 1-2-3-Plakat.de have extended their partnership. The company will continue to support the club in its media planning through '15 (Schalke). ... KFC "entered into a four-year partnership with the French Football Federation." Financial details "have not yet been confirmed." The FFF "has been on a sustained sponsorship drive ahead of France’s hosting of Euro 2016, bringing on board hotel chain Accor, consumer electronics brand Archos and gambling organisation PMU so far this year" (SOCCEREX, 9/5). ... The Angola national football teams are benefiting from a three-year all risks insurance scheme, "following a deal signed Thursday in Luanda by the Angolan Football Federation (FAA) and the State-owned National Insurance Company (ENSA)." The sponsorship deal "is intended to cover risks and accidents eventually suffered by national football team players, including those from lower age categories" (ALL AFRICA, 9/5). ... Beer company Red Stripe "renewed its sponsorship" of the Jamaican National Premier League for another five years. Red Stripe's sponsorship of the league and partnership with the Premier League Clubs Association "will help the 12 participating clubs reinvest money to strengthen their operations, contribute towards marketing and promotion of the league and reward football fans through consumer activations." PLCA Chair Edward Seaga said that "they are still in negotiations with Red Stripe about the financial terms of the sponsorship" (JAMAICA GLEANER, 9/5).
