Real Madrid player Gareth Bale "stars in the latest campaign from BT Sport to promote its European football," according to Maisie McCabe of CAMPAIGN LIVE. The ad, created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, "features Bale talking about the clubs he has chosen to move to during his career." The Welsh winger played for League Championship side Southampton and Tottenham "before moving to Real Madrid" in '13. A voiceover from presenter Jake Humphrey then informs viewers that "they should factor in the Champions League rights BT has from August 2015 when they are choosing their broadband provider" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 6/30). The new TV adverts were first shown over the weekend during the World Cup knockout rounds. The new print adverts featuring Bale carry the same message with the straplines "The European goalposts are moving" and "Football is all about making the right decisions." BT is already the U.K. home of the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, meaning customers will be able to continue watching many of the stars from the World Cup when they return to domestic action (BT).
