Newly Promoted La Liga Side Elche Sells 16,000-Plus Season Tickets In Just 20 Days

Newly promoted La Liga side Elche has sold more than 16,000 season tickets for the '13-14 season after just 20 days of its season-ticket campaign, according to the EFE. The most-sold tickets have been those at the upper ring of the grandstand, "followed by tickets for the lower curves and the lower ring." Though more than 16,000 have already been sold, the directors of the season-ticket campaign "expect sales to increase in the days to come." Elche Operations Dir Pablo Martínez said, "We have a lot of tickets left." Martínez highlighted "the popularity that grandstand tickets are having." Martínez: "There still has not been one signing, but one can't forget that last season between six and eight players arrived in the preseason. Good things come to those who wait." Elche President José Sepulcre said on the day of the presentation of the season-ticket campaign that the objective "was to sell 25,000" (AS, 7/3).
