Al-Jazeera Working With Ronaldo, Agent To Improve Image Through Documentary

Conversations between Paris St. Germain President Nasser Al Khelaifi and Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo have taken place, but have had "nothing to do with a possible agreement" for the Portuguese to take his talents to Paris, according to Pablo Polo of MARCA. The talks, which included Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, were "connected with a campaign to work" on the player's image through the al-Jazeera Sport channel, which Al Khelaifi "also directs." The first part of the campaign has already been launched, in the form of an interview, "which has already been partly broadcast and will be shown in full in the coming days." Al-Jazeera is going to keep a camera on the Ballon d'Or candidate "almost constantly" to put together a documentary on his life. He will be shown in his "more personal moments, in training, as well as during social events and with his friends." The objective of the documentary is to present Ronaldo as a "normal, humble kid who is interested in the problems which surround him" (MARCA, 11/6).
