A total of 920,000 watched Sky's simulcast of all eight CL match-ups on Tuesday night. The broadcast, which started at 8:45pm CEST, obtained a market share of 3.1%. In the target demographic 14-49, Sky attracted 430,000 viewers or a 2.6% share (QUOTENMETER.de, 11/7).
SPAIN: EUROPA PRESS reported that La1's broadcast of the 2-2 Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund was watched by an average audience of 7.2 million people and a 35.5% market share. The "golden minute" occurred at 10:34pm local time when more than 10 million viewers were tuned in and a 44.8% share. Overall, 15.5 million viewers tuned in to watch at least "one moment of the match" (EUROPA PRESS, 11/7).
FRANCE: ALLPSG.com reported that pay-TV broadcaster Canal +'s broadcast of Paris St. Germain's 4-0 win over Dynamo Zagreb in the Champions League attracted 1.3 million viewers and a 4.7% share (ALLPSG.com, 11/7).
RACING RATINGS: In Sydney, Amanda Meade reported Seven's coverage of the Melbourne Cup dominated viewing Tuesday, "with an average five capital city audience of 2.7 million for the race itself." The OzTAM figures "do not include workplaces or venues where people gathered to watch the famous race, so the actual figure would be far higher if those places could be measured." The figure for the race "has hovered around the 2.5 million mark for the past 10 years (THE AUSTRALIAN, 11/7).
