49ers' Kaepernick Speaks To Youth At "Know Your Rights Camp"

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, during his team's bye week, spent Friday evening at Impact Hub Oakland with some 100 youth from about 19 organizations across the Bay Area for "Know Yours Rights Camp." There is "no denying how much this cause means" to Kaepernick and his National Anthem protest, and "when you see how much he means to the people, it is nearly impossible not to respect what he is doing" (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 10/30). Kaepernick said, "We wanted to bring [the campaign] to underprivileged communities. Starting first in the Bay Area ... communities that are truly affected by a lot of the oppressive issues that we’re facing today. And we want to help bridge that gap, give these kids resources to try to help them advance in life" (THEUNDEFEATED.com, 10/29).
