Modell Again Misses HOF; Parcells Among Seven Selected For '13

Late Ravens Owner Art Modell "didn't make the first cut to ten" in the selection process for the Pro Football HOF '13 induction class, "as was the case in 2002, the only other time he was a finalist" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 2/3). Former NFL coach and exec Bill Parcells "highlighted a class of seven inductees" that includes Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Jonathan Ogden, Warren Sapp and "two senior candidates" in Curley Culp and Dave Robinson. Voting committee members said that Parcells "inspired the longest and liveliest debate of the 17 finalists, with the discussion over his candidacy lasting more than one hour" (N.Y. TIMES, 2/3).
