Practice Makes Perfect: Even SB Coin Toss Gets Dry Run For CBS

CBS in prep for today's Super Bowl XLVII telecast has had "a lot of rehearsals," as even the opening coin toss "got a dry run." A local high school team was "brought into the pre-game action as stand-ins for the Ravens and 49ers." The net also has been "assembling hours of clips from previous games to show between plays when appropriate" (L.A. TIMES, 2/3). CBS will employ 62 cameras in its Super Bowl telecast, and will "show off its new high-speed 'Heyeper Zoom' camera system, which debuted with its AFC playoff coverage" (OKLAHOMAN, 2/2).

Jennifer Hudson will "join the chorus from Sandy Hook Elementary School" to sing "America the Beautiful" prior to the Super Bowl (AP, 1/31). An anonymous donor has "provided money so that as many as 26 members" of the chorus can perform at the game (STAMFORD ADVOCATE, 1/31).
