Fox-Charter Dispute Could Result In RSNs Going Off The Air

Talks to keep various Fox RSNs on Spectrum cable systems "will continue" until 7:00pm ET tonight after "another extension of the deadline" in the dispute between Fox and Charter Communications. FS Sun, which carries Rays games, "faces a similar issue" as other RSNs, though today's game against the Yankees begins at 1:00pm ET and will not be affected (TAMPABAY.com, 4/11). The next Royals game on FS K.C. is scheduled for today at 7:15pm CT, so it could be blacked out. Fox may also "pull channels" such as FS1, FX and Nat Geo (KANSASCITY.com, 4/11). In the Twin Cities, FS North broadcasts of the Twins, T'Wolves and Wild-Blues first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series "would also be impacted" (STARTRIBUNE.com, 4/11).

Rice AD Joe Karlgaard said that through research, the school "found there was a strong affinity for the Old English 'R' but mixed feelings toward the script." So they "struck a balance," keeping the Old English "R." Perhaps the "most notable new uniform belongs to the football team" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 4/12).
