NFL Experience Draws 175,000 Fans, First Single-Day Sellout

More than 175,000 fans visited the NFL Experience during the attraction's seven days in Houston, and Saturday "represented the first single-day sellout of the football-themed experience." It was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, across from the NFL Live fan event at Discovery Green (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 2/6). At Discovery Green, visitors were "giving high marks to the sanctioned events" (CHRON.com, 2/5).

Meanwhile, "hundreds of Houstonians" yesterday "took advantage of the national spotlight brought by the Super Bowl to protest the presidency and policies of Donald Trump." There was a march from Hermann Park to NRG Stadium, and protesters "intersected with thousands of Super Bowl fans, leading to one altercation in an otherwise peaceful march" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 2/6). It marked the "culmination of social activism during an unprecedented Super Bowl week," when Trump's "controversial style left its imprint on the week-long festivities" (USA TODAY, 2/6).
