StubHub's Average SB Ticket Price Down; Total Number Sold Up 25%

StubHub concluded ticket resales for Super Bowl LI with an average price of $3,967, down 12% from last year’s event-record of $4,512. But the company finished with a 25% increase in the number of Super Bowl tickets sold. It also saw sales from all 50 states and a record 24 countries. Secondary ticket activity for the game showed significant volatility in the final 24 hours, with get-in prices surging above $3,500 yesterday afternoon, nearly twice the level from earlier in the week. StubHub GM for North America Perkins Miller: “When you look at that international spread and the kind of late movement in the market, you see the kind of demand that was at play here.” Roughly a third of StubHub’s Super Bowl transactions were done on mobile platforms.
