Adidas Exceeds Expectations With Q3 Profit As Momentum Continues

adidas AG today "published strong third-quarter results," with net profit in the three months ending in September rising to $429.2M (all figures U.S.) from $344.5M in the corresponding period a year earlier. When adjusted for currency effects, sales rose 17% to about $6B, "more than analysts had expected." adidas is "seeing strong momentum, especially in the U.S." The company has "raised its financial outlook four times this year, and recently surpassed" Under Armour in quarterly North American sales (WSJ.com, 11/3).
