USA TODAY's Editorial Board argues the Zika virus "ought to be far down any realistic list of concerns" surrounding the Rio Games. The opposing view comes from NYU professor Lee Igel, who writes under the header, "Postpone Or Move The Rio Games" (USA TODAY, 7/7).
This comes as Brazilian authorities tried to "calm concerns about the country's security preparations," saying that "police forces will have all the resources they need to ensure people's safety." Also, Defense Minister Raul Jungmann said that there is "no evidence of terrorist infiltration" in the country. But "some analysts say the government could be underestimating risks from within Brazil" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 7/7).
