IMG, SUM To Jointly Market Commercial Rights For Copa America '16

A joint bid from IMG and Soccer United Marketing has been selected to market the commercial rights for the upcoming Copa America Centenario ’16. Datisa had previously been sold the rights by CONMEBOL, but that contract was terminated in October as a result of the marketing firm being named in the ongoing U.S. investigation surrounding bribery and corruption in global soccer. CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and U.S. Soccer held an RFP process to select new rights holders. An outside advisory firm also oversaw the process, a step that CONMEBOL says will continue for future tournaments.

ESP Properties, a division of WPP; and SJX Partners, a division of CSM Sport & Entertainment, will assist IMG and SUM with sponsorship efforts for the tournament. Available worldwide commercial rights for Copa America include sponsorship (rights and services), broadcast rights, broadcast services and limited digital rights.
