Nike Likely To Outpace Analyst Expectations For Q4 Financials

Nike reports its Q4 financial results this afternoon, and the company is "expected to outpace Wall Street's expectations in terms of quarterly profit and sales, thanks to strong demand for athletic apparel and Nike's e-commerce business." The company also can "expect a boost" in Q4 revenue from Nike's "strong sponsorship presence" at the '15 FIFA Women's World Cup, along with a "recent exclusive merchandising deal signed with the NBA" (FORTUNE.com, 6/25).

RiskReversal.com co-Founder & Editor Dan Nathan said Nike is a “premium company with a premium brand and it’s got a premium valuation, but it’s also priced for perfection.” He said if there is “any downward guidance, I think you’re going to see the stock at $100 very quickly” after earnings are announced. Private Advisor Group Chief Market Strategist & Dir of Advisor Advocacy Guy Adami: “You can’t really bet against the stock.” But Brian Kelly Capital LLC Founder & Managing Member Brian Kelly said, “In this space, I would rather go with Under Armour. That to me is the better player” (“Fast Money,” CNBC, 6/24).
