Laugh Track....Shake 'n Bake

CBS’ David Letterman said, “You know what’s happening this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky? The Kentucky Derby and the beginning of the shot for the Triple Crown. That’s always very exciting even though it never happens, but it’s fun to think that it might happen” (“Late Show,” CBS, 4/27).

Following his monologue, Letterman said, “Yesterday at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, beautiful race track, the Indy cars were there and listen to this. Graham Rahal driving for Rahal Letterman Lanigan in the Steak 'n Shake car finished in second place … (and) because he did so well and what a kid, what a guy, I have the authority now to give everyone here a Steak ‘n Shake shake.” Steak ‘n Shake employees then came into the studio and passed out shakes with the on-screen caption flashing “Free Shakes” (“Late Show,” CBS, 4/27).
