Manchester United Revenue Down After Champions League Absence

EPL club Manchester United debts rose to $583.9M (all figures US) in Q2 and revenue dropped 14% as “they paid a price for missing out” on a UEFA Champions League appearance. Income fell from $188.7M to $162.3M as broadcasting revenue dropped from $72M to $43.6M. Fewer homes games resulted in matchday revenues decreasing from $51.8M to $47.5M. ManU had record revenues of $665.2M for the last financial year and the team “expects that to drop” to $590-607M for the current year (ESPNFC.com, 2/12).
