Albertsons To Sponsor Brian Scott's Car In Xfinity, Sprint Cup Series

Richard Childress Racing this morning announced a deal with Boise-based grocery store company Albertsons, which will be the primary sponsor for an undisclosed amount of races on Brian Scott’s No. 2 Xfinity Series Chevy. Albertsons will also appear in a select number of Sprint Cup races, where Scott will drive the No. 33 Circle Sport Racing Chevy. Financial terms were not available. Albertsons, whose subsidiaries including grocery stores like Safeway, Acme, Shaw’s, Jewel-Osco and Randalls, will showcase those different brands on the car this season depending on which relevant market the race is being held in.

The deal, which took a few months to complete, was partially sparked by the fact that Albertsons was a former sponsor of Scott’s. RCR CMO Ben Schlosser said that the team is now mostly out of inventory for '15, save for a few Sprint Cup races that need to be filled for Ty Dillon, which RCR is finalizing.
