In NASCAR, NFL And NHL, Tornado Relief Efforts Gain Momentum

Michael Waltrip Racing's three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 "will carry decals of Feed The Children, an Oklahoma City-based group that is providing food and resources" to tornado victims. Also, NASCAR driver David Ragan and Front Row Motorsports are "encouraging fans to join team partner, Oklahoma City-based Love’s Travel Stops, in donating to help tornado victims." The company announced a $3M donation. Ragan’s No. 34 car will carry special decals (AP, 5/23).

Texans Owner Bob McNair and his wife Janice donated $100,000 to the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma Disaster Relief Fund (CHRON.com, 5/23).

The NHL Kings last night held a fundraiser to benefit Red Cross relief efforts at the Kings Care booth in the main concourse at Staples Center. The team is "matching all donations and adding an additional $10,000" (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 5/24).
