Cardinals Hire Colts' Arians As Head Coach; Introduction Today

The NFL Cardinals today will formally introduce Bruce Arians as their new head coach, and he is "expected to sign a four-year contract with a team option for a fifth year." Arians was Colts offensive coordinator last year and served as interim head coach in 12 games while Chuck Pagano was absent receiving cancer treatments. The team hired Arians yesterday, "the same day they conducted their only interview" with him (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 1/18).

Meanwhile, Seahawks VP/Football Administration John Idzik has "emerged as the clear front-runner" to be the Jets' new GM, and sources had said that he "could be offered the job" as early as last night (ESPN.com, 1/17).
