NHL Runs Print Ad Apologizing To Fans For Recent Lockout

The NHL is running a full-page ad in multiple print media outlets that features an open letter to fans apologizing for the most recent lockout. The letter is running today and tomorrow in English and French in all NHL markets and in national outlets in the U.S. and Canada. It reads in part, "We thank you for your patience and we apologize to you for the time we've missed. ... We are committed to earning back your trust and support. ... P.S. The teams are planning special events and unique opportunities to welcome you back" (THE DAILY).

The Red Wings and Ticketmaster as part of the team's "Thanks for sticking with us" initiative will "waive fees on the purchase of any regular-season ticket" when they go on sale at 1:00pm ET today (CRAINSDETROIT.com, 1/13).
