Jaguars Ownership Change Tops Agenda At NFL Owners Meetings

NFL owners meetings begin today in Dallas, where the group will vote on whether to approve Wayne Weaver's sale of the Jaguars to Shahid Khan. The league's finance committee last week voted unanimously to "recommend that the issue go before a vote of all the owners." The move needs the approval of 75% of owners, or 24, "whichever is greater," in which case the sale would be made official Jan. 4. The owners also will discuss "stadium finance programs and team stadium projects, and review various reports" from the Finance, Broadcast and Management Council Exec committees (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 12/13).

A vote is expected tonight on "whether to resurrect" the G-3 stadium funding program, loans that "could fund about one-third of the Vikings' contribution" toward a planned $1.1B venue in Arden Hills (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 12/14).
