Jerry Jones-Backed Blue Star Sports To Announce Acquisitions, Add 350 Employees

Texas-based youth sports software company Blue Star Sports, backed by Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones, is set to "more than double" in size "during the next 30 to 45 days," according to Shawn Shinneman of the DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL. Blue Star Sports Founder & CEO Rob Wechsler said that during that time span, the company will "announce nine additional acquisitions, bringing the employee base from about 250 people to around 600." Wechsler said that Blue Star will "announce the deals within the next month and [a] half, but terms have already been settled." Shinneman noted the "revelation about the company's pending short-term growth comes on the heels of an announcement that Blue Star has signed on as the official technology partner of USA Football" in a five-year deal. Wechsler: "We want to transform the way that people play sports. ... It's a really fragmented market, it's really disjointed" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 4/5).
