Florida State football coach JIMBO FISHER has "received a two-year contract extension" through the '24-25 season. Fisher will see his "basic annual compensation increased" from $5.25M to $5.55M beginning in '17. However, including what FSU terms an annual "contract completion benefit," Fisher's total annual pay will be $5.75M. Total "guaranteed compensation over the length of the 8-year contract will reach" $44.4M (TALLAHASSEE DEMOCRAT, 12/20)

COORDINATOR CASH
: The Rutgers football team yesterday hired Kansas State Associate AD/Football Administration JERRY KILL as its new offensive coordinator. Sources said that Kill signed a "three-year contract with a starting salary of $600,000 and raises of $25,000 per year in each of the two subsequent years." That is the "highest salary for an assistant coach in Rutgers athletic history." Kill at KSU had a one-year deal worth $150,000 (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 12/20).

NAMES: Former NFLer BEN UTECHT's autobiography, "COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS WHILE MY MIND SLIPS AWAY," is about his "journey from a small town to the professional ranks but punctuated by his thoughts about concussions." The book is published by Howard Books, a division of Simon & Schuster (N.Y.
