Adidas Debuting New Patriotic Uniforms For Upcoming College Basketball, Football Games

Kansas faces Indiana in next week's Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu, and the schools teamed with adidas and "used their respective red and blue color schemes to mirror the American flag" to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, according to Sam Strong of ESPN.com. Both uniforms have a "digital camouflage pattern background and contain a 'Remember Pearl Harbor' emblem on the back of the collar." Players' last names will be "replaced by 'Honor' for the Jayhawks and 'Courage' for the Hoosiers" (ESPN.com, 11/1). adidas also is going with a patriotic theme for football jerseys of some client schools in the coming weeks. Louisville "will wear black military appreciation uniforms that feature a stars-and-stripes design for its Nov. 12 home game against Wake Forest, which comes the day after Veterans Day" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 11/2). Mississippi State also has "black-and-white uniforms with stars-and-stripes accents" for Saturday's game against Texas A&M (CBSSPORTS.com, 11/1).
