Franchise Notes

In Las Vegas, Todd Dewey cites sources as saying that the Raiders, should they move to the city, "plan to play some preseason games at Sam Boyd Stadium, and possibly one regular-season game per year, to help build their fan base in Southern Nevada." The sources added that the Raiders "don’t plan to fully relocate to Las Vegas before a new stadium is ready" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 4/8).

PRO DAYS: In Green Bay, Richard Ryman noted the Packers Pro Shop has "redesigned its website" to reflect the store at Lambeau Field by "incorporating football-themed elements throughout." Pro Shop sales are "an important and growing part of the team's revenue," which was a record $375.7M last year. Sales and marketing revenue, which "includes Pro Shop sales," increased 163% from '03-11. That was "before the new, larger Pro Shop" opened in '14. The team said that more than half of last year's local revenue increase of $12.9M "was because of Pro Shop sales" (GREENBAYPRESSGAZETTE.com, 4/7).

OFF-COURT CHAMPS: In Orlando, Mike Bianchi wrote the Magic have been "wildly uneven on the basketball floor," but only if they were "as consistently great on the court as they are in the community, there would be more banners hanging in the Amway Center" than in TD Garden. The Magic do "exceptionally well" in the community, a role they have "taken seriously since they were conceived three decades ago." Even when the Magic "have let down their fans on the court," they have "uplifted them in the community" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 4/6).
