Get The Speed Gun Out For This: MLB Rangers To Sponsor Car During Xfinity Series Race

The MLB Rangers yesterday announced the club will be the primary sponsor for Richard Childress Racing's No. 33 Xfinity Series Chevy driven by Brandon Jones during NASCAR's O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway on April 8. Jones' car will be wrapped in Rangers blue and red with baseballs on the doors and the team's logo on the hood. Jones' driver suit will feature Rangers marks and be modeled after the team's blue jersey top with gray pants and blue and red piping. Jones is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Mariners-Rangers on April 6. The Rangers are offering a special ticket offer for the April 14 game against the Orioles where fans can buy two Lexus Club Terrace tickets for just $33 by using the online coupon code NASCAR (Rangers). Rangers Exec VP/Communications John Blake said the team sees the sponsorship "as an opportunity for marketing exposure in a way we don’t usually experience." Blake: "There is a crossover audience among baseball and NASCAR fans, so this partnership makes a lot of sense for us" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 3/31).
