S.F.-based healthcare company McKesson yesterday "snapped up 470 Rexall Health stores" for C$3B, "adding retail operations in Canada to its burgeoning pharmaceutical portfolio." McKesson "bought the chain from the privately owned Katz Group," whose Founder & Chair is Oilers Owner DARYL KATZ. Toronto-based management consultant MARK SATOV said that it is a "smart move for McKesson, and it makes sense for Katz, allowing him to focus on other investments," which include real estate, sports and entertainment (TORONTO STAR, 3/3).

GOTTA LOVETT: The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Ben Fritz profiled CAA President RICHARD LOVETT, who has "helped oversee CAA’s transformation." Once focused "almost solely on securing big paydays for entertainers, the company has built a sports business over the past decade that rivals its film and TV operations in size" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/2).

NAMES: Royals C SALVADOR PEREZ donated $1M to the Urban Youth Academy in K.C. He was joined by Royals LF ALEX GORDON and P CHRIS YOUNG, who gave "undisclosed amounts" (K.C. Former USC football coach STEVE SARKISIAN's lawsuit against the school over his firing will be "sorted out in private after Sarkisian abruptly submitted to binding arbitration earlier this week." The lawsuit "alleged discrimination on the basis of disability and breach of contract." Prior to the arbitration submission, court filings over the past few months had "hinted at the legal brawl to come" (L.A.
