MLB Partners Majestic, New Era Rolling Out New Jerseys, Caps For Spring Training

MLB is working with its Authentic Collection partners Majestic and New Era to roll out for the ’16 season a new on-field uniform and hat look for Spring Training, as well as a new uniform system for Spring Training, the regular season and postseason. The new Spring Training look will feature highway-style road signs for “FL” and “AZ” on the side of player caps and jersey sleeves; new team cap logo designs for several clubs, including the D-backs, White Sox, Tigers, Royals, Rangers, Dodgers, Brewers and Blue Jays; sublimated AL and NL logos on cap sides; and sublimated Spring Training marks in jersey numbers and player names. The new Majestic Flex Base uniform system features a new lighter twill technology that reduces jersey weight by at least 10%, increases ventilation and moisture wicking, and new elements in the jersey tails and pant waistbands to reduce jersey bunching. “Two years of wear testing at every baseball position, countless hours of player feedback and fabric innovation have yielded the most cutting-edge performance inspired uniform in the history of Major League Baseball,” said Majestic President Jim Pisani. The new set of imagery for Spring Training will also extend to new baseballs that will have the “FL” and “AZ” road signs, and Spring Training fields with both those state marks and the Grapefruit and Cactus League logos.
