With Brand Soaring, Cavaliers Enlist ESP Properties To Secure Int'l Partnerships

The Cavaliers last night announced that they are expanding their worldwide footprint by enlisting ESP Properties and Property Consulting Group (PCG) to help maximize the franchise brand outside North America. Both agencies are assigned to represent the Cavaliers in securing international partnerships. The Cavaliers are the first NBA team to sign with ESP Properties, which is a new agency under the WPP umbrella. ESP Properties will focus on Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America. The Cavaliers also work with Property Consulting Group (PCG) which focuses solely on selling partnerships for the team in Australia (Cavaliers). The Cavaliers said that more than half of the team's nearly 4 million followers "are from fans abroad" and 25% of the traffic to their official website this year has come from int'l fans. ESPN.com's Darren Rovell reported the countries with the most fans "include the Philippines, Brazil, France, Canada and Australia" (ESPN.com, 6/9).
