Into The Lions' Den: Columbia Univ. Introduces IMG VP Peter Pilling As Next AD

Columbia Univ. yesterday named IMG College Associate Regional VP Peter Pilling AD, and he "arrives at a critical moment" for the Ivy League school, "particularly the moribund football program, which is searching for a coach," according to Zach Schonbrun of the N.Y. TIMES. Pilling "spent the last nine years" at IMG College, and previously "had senior roles in the athletic departments" of BYU and Villanova. He will "replace M. Dianne Murphy, who announced in September that she would step down and is set to do so April 13." Pilling "focused on IMG's partnerships with the Mountain West Conference, the West Coast Conference and the Big 12 during his time with the company." He is a graduate of BYU, and "holds a master's degree in sports management" from Ohio Univ. (N.Y TIMES, 2/4).
