Franchise Notes

In Chicago, Brian Sandalow reports the Blackhawks yesterday "revealed their jerseys" for the '15 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Nationals Park against the Capitals. The team will wear "white uniforms that look similar to what they wore" during the '57-58 season. The jerseys "look similar to what the Hawks currently wear on the road," but differences include a lace-up collar "with a thin black stripe." Also, the tomahawk C secondary logo is "colored differently and moves from the shoulder to on top of the familiar black-red-black arm stripes, and the lettering and numbering is solid black with a slightly altered font" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 11/6).

LIVING UP TO THE HYPE? The Clippers are off to a 3-2 start this season, but the L.A. Times' Bill Plaschke said the team has "struggled" and players have "acted like they've been distracted." Plaschke: "All this hype has seemingly swallowed them up" ("Around The Horn," ESPN, 11/5). ESPN's Jalen Rose said the team needs to be "minimizing distractions in Tinsel Town." Rose: "You’re getting endorsements. You’re getting TV opportunities. You’re getting movie opportunities. The Lakers are down, they’re 0-5. So just minimize the distractions. Focus on playing basketball” (“NBA Countdown,” ESPN, 11/5).

STANDING PACK: The Packers yesterday announced a limited number of standing-room-only tickets will be available at Lambeau Field for Sunday's game against the Bears and the Nov.16 against the Eagles. The tickets are priced at $75 each, and will be located in the South End, where standard seats are priced at $100 each. Fans will be able to stand behind the seating section in that area, as well as use the viewing platforms on either side of the seating section (Packers).

ON THE HOT SEAT: In S.F., Scott Ostler noted thousands of fans began "fleeing their seats" before halftime of Rams-49ers at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, and "many did not return." There were "areas of empty seats, most notably in the large Club section at midfield, the high-priced seats behind the Rams’ bench." Levi’s Stadium is "flawed, in that it provides no shade," and heat is "going to be an issue the first half of every football season." If a "noisy, rabid home crowd is a performance booster for the home team," 49ers' execs are going to have to "figure out how to entice fans to stay in their seats" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 11/4).
