Jeter's Final Home Game At Yankee Stadium Draws Record Viewership For YES Network

YES Network drew a 10.84 local rating and 1.245 million viewers for Orioles-Yankees on Thursday night from 7:00-10:45pm ET, marking the RSN's most-viewed Yankees game telecast on record. The game, which saw Yankees SS Derek Jeter hit a walk-off single in his final game at Yankee Stadium, had to compete with Giants-Redskins in the N.Y. market. YES Net's previous high was 1.21 million viewers for Yankees-Red Sox on April 3, 2005 (11.64 local rating). The NFL matchup drew a combined 1.443 million viewers on CBS and NFL Network in the N.Y market from 8:30-11:45pm. MLB Network also aired the Orioles-Yankees game, but the league-owned net was blacked out in the N.Y. and Baltimore markets. YES' 1.245 million viewers did top N.Y-based WCBS' broadcast of Giants-Redskins, which drew 1.225 million viewers. NFL Net alone had 218,000 viewers in the N.Y. market for Giants-Redskins. Orioles-Yankees also peaked at a 16.55 rating and 1.99 million viewers on YES from 10:15-10:30pm, marking the RSN's best quarter-hour ever. In addition, YES drew a 2.97 local rating and 304,000 viewers for its Yankees pregame show last night, marking the third-best audience for the program on record.
