Sports Execs Feel NRA Title Sponsorship Could Negatively Affect NASCAR's Image

Most sports execs feel the NRA’s title sponsorship of this weekend’s Sprint Cup Series race will negatively affect the image of NASCAR, but will not be as bad for Texas Motor Speedway, according to data from a Turnkey Sports Poll conducted in March. Forty-two percent of execs said the sponsorship would negatively affect the image of NASCAR, while 30% said there would be no effect. As to the image of TMS, 37% of execs said it would negatively affect the track’s image, while 31% said there would be no effect. The majority of execs said the race winner would see no effect from the NRA sponsorship (Turnkey).
