Dana White: UFC Inking Fox Deal Was "Holy Grail," Satisfied With Ratings

UFC President Dana White said in an interview on MULTICHANNEL.com that the outfit's TV deal with Fox Sports “is all a work in progress.” White said Fox is the “Holy Grail, this is a deal I’ve always wanted, the deal that always made sense.” White: “You never know what it’s going to be like until you get into it and I have to say it’s been fantastic.” White said the “corporate guys” are “my kind of guys.” White: “They’re good guys, we work well together. They’re just as passionate about building the sport as we are and I couldn’t have better partners and I couldn’t be happier.” He said the ratings for FX’ “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series “are fantastic for a Friday night.” However, White noted, “Friday night is not the ideal night for me to be on FX for the reality show. Let me tell you what, you throw me on a Wednesday night at ten, Tuesday night at ten on FX, the numbers would be off the charts. But unfortunately, we didn’t have a spot. FX, to me, is the new HBO … and if you look at HBO’s model, all the awesome programming that they have on there, then they have boxing and now FX has the UFC” (MULTICHANNEL.com, 5/16).
