Devils' Campaign To Limit Rangers Fans At Prudential Center Ends Quickly

The Devils' website initiative "to try to prevent Rangers fans from getting tickets to the NHL Eastern Conference finals games at Prudential Center didn't even last a day," according to Tom Gulitti of the Bergen RECORD. The "No Blue" campaign was posted on the team's website Tuesday, but by Tuesday night "the web page had disappeared." A Devils official "declined to comment on why the page was pulled down" (Bergen RECORD, 5/17). On Long Island, Neil Best notes the Devils' website "continued to offer a link to an exchange on which fans can buy directly from season ticket holders." A message on the website read in part, "Seats remain on the secondary market. Protect home ice and come support your Devils against their cross river rivals" (NEWSDAY, 5/17). The Newark STAR-LEDGER notes the Devils "did receive some attention around the web -- both positive and negative" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 5/17). YAHOO SPORTS' Harrison Mooney wrote, "As motivated as Devils fans might be to protect home ice, Rangers fans will be even more driven to buy tickets now" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 5/15).
