Poll: Young Fans More Likely To Blame Owners For NFL Labor Dispute
NFL fans under the age of 30 are more likely than fans 31+ to blame team owners for the league's current labor dispute, according to a study conducted for SportsBusiness Daily/Journal by Civic Science. Older demos were more likely to assign blame equally to both sides. The poll, conducted March 23-31 on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's website, had more than 20,000 respondents (Civic Science).

The poll, conducted March 23-31 via random dialing, had approximately 800 completed surveys. The study found that if NFL games were canceled, most fans' interest in the league would remain the same when play resumed. Respondents were also asked whether they thought the dispute has a better chance of being settled in court, at the bargaining table or by some other means. While most of those ages 30+ felt the dispute would be solved at the bargaining table, the study found that among those 18-29, there was more of a split as to how it would be settled (Seton Hall Sports Poll/The Sharkey Institute).
