          TIME lists TIGER WOODS among its "Winners" of the year
     2000: "'We're not worthy.'  Links predator keeps getting
     fiercer.  Is there anything you haven't endorsed?" (TIME,
     12/25 issue).....In N.Y., Lena Williams profiles the ICE
     HOCKEY IN HARLEM youth community program, which has gained
     "widespread" support from N.Y.'s City Hall, the NHLPA and
     the NHL.  Rangers C MANNY MALHOTRA is this year's honorary
     chair (N.Y. TIMES, 12/20)....STING, STYX and the Tampa group
     PYT will be among the headliners at the SUPER BOWL XXXV
     pregame show.  Sting will sing "Roxanne" and his current
     song "Desert Rose" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 12/20)....Canucks GM
     BRIAN BURKE is suing BCTV "over reports he obstructed the
     police investigation" in the Canadian government's case
     against MARTY MCSORLEY.  BCTV stated in a report that Burke
     "was less than forthcoming when police started asking
     questions."  Burke claims such statements hurt his
     reputation as an attorney and a hockey exec (NATIONAL POST,
     12/20)....In Sacramento, Debbie Arrington profiled Magna
     Entertainment Chair FRANK STRONACH and compared him to
     Raiders Owner AL DAVIS: "Not since ... Al Davis and his
     battles with the NFL has one enigmatic individual attracted
     so much controversy from his fellow sports aristocrats as
     well as notoriety among the common fans" (SAC. BEE, 12/17).
