EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          USA Basketball Exec Dir WARREN BROWN announced that he
     is stepping down on January 1, 2001.  Brown, who has served
     as Exec Dir since '92, will remain with USA Basketball for a
     four-year period providing a variety of services to its Exec
     Committee.  Meanwhile, NCAA Senior VP TOM JERNSTEDT was
     elected President of USA Basketball for the '00-04 term. 
     Jernstedt succeeds USA Basketball President and NBA Deputy
     Commissioner RUSS GRANIK (USA Basketball)....NASCAR named ED
     BENNETT as VP/Corporate Administration (Mult., 11/18)
     ....Skiing Trade News and Snoworld named PETER KIRKPATRICK
     as Western Sales Representative (The Skiing Company).
     ...Former SOCOG President MICHAEL KNIGHT will join the IOC
     panel overseeing the 2004 Athens Games (SYDNEY MORNING
     HERALD, 11/18).  Meanwhile, the AP reported that Greece's
     Culture Minister THEODOROS PANGALOS, who was "in charge of
     preparations" for the 2004 Games, was "fired" (AP, 11/19).
