Ronnie Lott and Joe Montana appeared on last night's
broadcast of FX's "The X-Show" and discussed their recent ad
for TiVo (see THE DAILY, 11/14). Montana, on the "masculine
itching"-themed ad: "If it wasn't for our friendship, I
don't know if I could have done it with anybody else." Lott
said, "We are into [TiVo]," and talked up a TiVo promo for
contestants to write a 250-word essay about the best rivalry
of any kind, with TiVo giving away ten TiVo sets a day and a
grand prize entertainment center ("The X-Show," FX, 11/15).
FOOTBALL: John Elway has signed a multi-year deal with
Dreams, Inc.'s Mounted Memories subsidiary to autograph a
line of Elway memorabilia and collectibles (Dreams)....In
IL, Kelly Quain wrote that "word has it that McDonald's was
considering reshooting" an ad featuring Bears QB Cade McNown
-- after he was replaced due to injury as the starter by Jim
Miller -- in order to "make it more timely and accurate."
But Miller suffered a season-ending injury last Sunday, and
the ad remains "outdated" (DAILY SOUTHTOWN, 11/15).
NAMES: Golfer Kirk Triplett extended his Ernst & Young
deal. Triplett, No. 11 on the PGA Tour's money list and
ranked No. 26 in the world, is repped by FL-based Int'l Golf

the Next Generation," and Sonia Reyes examines the brand's
