          The INDIANAPOLIS STAR filed suit in Marion Superior
     Court "to force" IN UNIV. to "open all records that led to
     the firing" of former men's basketball coach BOB KNIGHT. 
     Analysts said that the suit "will likely set Indiana's
     standard over just how much the public is entitled to know
     about the disciplinary actions taken by public bodies"
     (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 10/27)....The UNIV. OF OR (UO) "split"
     with the WORKER RIGHTS CONSORTIUM on Wednesday, "citing
     concerns about the labor watchdog group's legal status." 
     Nike Chair PHIL KNIGHT was critical of UO for joining the
     monitoring group earlier this year, but in OR, Janie Har
     wrote that whether he "reconciles with UO remains uncertain. 
     He did not change his position on donations after UO's
     decision to join the [Nike supported FAIR LABOR ASSOCIATION]
     last month" (OREGONIAN, 10/26)...."NBR"'s Susie Gharib
     interviewed IMG Founder MARK MCCORMACK last night. 
     McCormack: "I have no desire ever to sell [IMG].  I have no
     desire to ever go public with it.  I think a private company
     is just fine" ("NBR," 10/26)....U.S. Olympic baseball coach
     and Dodgers Senior VP TOMMY LASORDA rang the closing bell
     yesterday at the NYSE, celebrating the U.S. baseball team's
     Gold Medal in Sydney.  Lasorda, on a market turn-around upon
     his arrival: "The moment I walked in: Boom!  Everything went
     up" ("Street Sweep," CNN, 10/26)....Yankees P DAVID CONE
     "has stepped down" as the AL rep on the MLBPA Exec Board,
     and will be replaced by Rangers P RICK HELLING (STAR-
     TELEGRAM, 10/26)....The NFL had a record 1.75 million unique
     users log onto NFL.com during the league's BREAST CANCER
     AWARENESS DAY on Tuesday. The "NFL FOR HER" section of the
     site generated three million page views.  The NFL donated
     $50,000 to the SUSAN KOMEN FOUNDATION (NFL)....In FL, Alexis
     Muellner profiles Total Entertainer and Athlete Management
     sports agency (TEAAM) and its President DAVID CANTER. 
     Canter represents 60 NFL players and reported '99 revenues
     of $750,000, while projecting $1.5M for this year.  TEAAM
     recently merged with Dallas-based contact negotiator STEVE
     WEINBERG (SOUTH FL BUSINESS JOURNAL, 10/20 issue)....A group
     of investors, including Celtics President RICK PITINO and
     Hornets F JAMAL MASHBURN, have purchased 70% interest in two
     car dealerships in KY (LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 10/27).
