EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          ESPN/ABC Sports has promoted VP/Customer Marketing
     RANDY GERSTENBLATT to VP & Dir of Customer Marketing; former
     Dir of Customer Marketing & New Media PAUL GREEN to
     VP/Customer Marketing & New Technologies and former Dir of
     Customer Marketing TRICIA SWEENEY to VP/Customer Marketing.
     ESPN/ABC Sports also named SHARI COHEN as VP/Event Sales. 
     Cohen was VP & Assistant Manager at GM Mediaworks and at ABC
     Television Network in planning and marketing (THE DAILY).
          OTHER MOVES: The DAILY RACING FORM's Matt Hegarty
     reported that former DirecTV exec RICHARD GOLDBERG, who was
     hired by Magna Entertainment as a "key" consultant in mid-
     July, has resigned "without giving a reason."  Goldberg's
     departure is "another in a series of surprising and dizzying
     changes involving executives who have left Magna" (DAILY
     RACING FORM, 10/27)....In Toronto, William Houston reports
     that MICHAEL GILLINGS, the head of CTV Sportsnet's news
     division, was "fired suddenly" yesterday, after "almost two
     years on the job" (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 10/27).
