DEMON-IC MOVE? XFL TEAM RELOCATING TO S.F. FROM SAN JOSE

          The XFL Demons will announce today they have moved from
     San Jose to S.F. and changed its name to the S.F. Demons,
     according to Jody Meacham of the SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS.  The
     team will now play at Pac Bell Park.  Demons GM Michael
     Preacher said that MLB Giants officials "came up with a deal
     to beat Spartan Stadium's," which was still being
     negotiated.  Though Preacher "didn't reveal all of the
     aspects" of the deal, part of the "attraction of moving" to
     S.F. is the 10,000-plus additional seats Pac Bell offers
     compared to the 30,000 at Spartan Stadium.  Preacher said:
     "Spartan was our smallest venue in the league by a
     considerable amount" (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 9/15).
