LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! HORROR FILM CHARACTERS GO RACIN'

          AZ-based Action Performance and Universal Studios
     Consumer Products Group have announced the "Monsters of the
     Speedway" program, under which drivers in NASCAR's Winston
     Cup and Busch circuits, the NHRA and the IRL will race
     vehicles next month with special paint schemes featuring
     horror film characters.  Films featured by Winston Cup
     drivers Bobby Labonte and Robby Gordon, along with BGN
     drivers Ron Hornaday, Casey Atwood, Jason Leffler, Randy
     Lajoie, and NHRA drivers John Force, Tony Pedregon, Matt
     Hines and Joe Amato, and the IRL's Al Unser Jr. include 
     "Dracula," "Frankenstein," "The Mummy," and "The Wolf Man." 
     Meanwhile, Terry Labonte and Force will drive cars promoting
     Universal and Imagine Entertainment's "Dr. Seuss' How the
     Grinch Stole Christmas" during races in November.  The film,
     starring Jim Carrey and directed by Ron Howard, will be
     released November 17. Action will market die-cast replicas,
     apparel and other merchandise as part of the promo (Action).
